Sarah and I have been working together for three years now. We're a dynamic duo of cocktails, recipes, and a little sarcasm. We always dreamed of opening our own bar, but then we realized – why not bring the bar, the personality, and the service directly to people instead?

Hi, I'm Troy – Raleigh native, bartender, and one half of the Shake Mates team.
I spent most of my professional life in landscaping, and honestly, I loved it. There's something special about working with clients, understanding their vision, and watching their faces light up when you deliver something exceptional. But after years of long days (and sometimes nights), I needed a change.
That's when I discovered bartending – and realized it gave me that same satisfaction. The hospitality, the personal connection, the joy of creating something people love. Just with cocktails instead of patios.
What I love most? The people. Sure, sometimes an event calls for polished, professional service – and we can absolutely deliver that. But what really gets me excited is putting personality into every drink I serve and making your event just a bit more fun. I'm laid-back and calm under pressure, but I know when to turn on the polish.
With 6 years of bartending experience (brewery, restaurant, and fine dining), plus 16 years of catering to clients in professional settings, I've learned what it takes to make people feel taken care of. I've served events with 200+ guests, and whether it's an intimate gathering or a big celebration, my goal is simple: make sure you and your guests have an amazing time.
Because at the end of the day, this is as much for me as it is for you.
